DASP Music Summer Concert

DASP Music Summer Concert

On Saturday 7th July, the Annual DASP Music Summer Concert took place at Weymouth Pavilion.

DASP Music aims to enhance the musical education of young people in Dorchester and beyond. As well as providing instrumental tuition within the DASP schools, DASP Music offers a wide variety of musical ensembles for pupils of all ages. These include orchestras, choirs and smaller instrumental ensembles.

The concert was a chance for the young people to share the work that they have done this term and for everyone to see the progress that they have made over the last year.

The concert included an eclectic mix of musical styles, performed by children from a wide range of ages.

It was lovely to see Frome Valley children perform in the DASP Recorder Group and the DASP Skylarks choir as well as our own school choir performing as part of the DASP First Schools Choir.

Finally, a huge congratulations to Freya who was presented a DASP Music Award for her piano lessons. The award aims to reward students who have made exceptional progress and shown dedication in their music over the last twelve months. We are all very proud of you, Freya.
