Autumn 2018

Stone Age to Iron Age
This first half term topic was massively enjoyed by the children.
The children used their writing skills to demonstrate their knowledge of Stone Age Hunter Gathers in diaries entries.
Also, the children used DT and Art skills to create models of  individual natural art pieces that might be seen on Bronze Age round house and cave walls and Iron Age hill fort Maiden Castle in groups.
The highlight of this topic was our trip to visit some of the many historical sights along the Dorset Ridgeway from this time period: Kingston Russel Stone Circle, Cullifrod Trees Round Barrow and Grey Mare and her Colts. We had a great time exploring the sights and bonding as class new class.
In science this term, our topic has been Rocks which included learning about rock properties, how rocks are formed, soil and fossils. Here are our own hand made fossils that we made to highlight the process...
Pet Visits
Two of our classmates cashed in their Dojos to bring in their pet! Oliver brought in his bearded dragon and Maeve brought in her dog. It was very exciting to meet them and both pets behaved very well!
