School Council 2019-2020

Frome Valley School Council 2019-2020
Autumn Term
Each year we hold an election to vote for our new school councillors. Each class elects two children to represent them on the school council (with the exception of Year 4 who have three school councillors - two to mentor the two reception representatives).
Children wishing to stand for election complete a nomination form. They are then given the opportunity to explain to their peers why they would make a good school councillor!
This year's elections took place on 13th September and the following children were duly elected
Year R: Austin and Toby
Year 1: Jack and Poppy
Year 2: Jayden and Florence
Year 3: Lilly and Jake
Year 4: Alex, Louie and Dani.
Congratulation to our new school councillors for 2019-2020 at Frome Valley.
The school councillors met with the staff school council representative, Miss Padfield, and created an action plan to outline what we would like to achieve this year. This can be viewed at the top of this page. Ms Thorp, the Headteacher, was invited to one of our meetings and we discussed the action plan with her and agreed our ideas.
Spring Term
The school council planned and led a whole school assembly to introduce themselves and to share the projects that they are going to be working on this year. They also informed the rest of the school about what they do and how children can talk to them and get in touch with them to share ideas. They led the assembly with such confidence and showed that they are responsible and excellent representatives for each year group.
