Tennis Competition
 
Erin and William from Year 4 and Lucia and Theo from Year 3 took part in a tennis competition held at Dorchester Tennis Club. The children competed in a range of friendly matches against other schools in the area. Frome Valley came 2nd which means they go on to the next round in June!! All children involved represented the school very well. Congratulations Frome Valley Tennis Team!
Year 3 Athletics Festival
 
Four children from Year 3 competed in an athletics festival at St Marys Middle School, Puddletown against other local schools. They took part in various activities, including throwing, jumping and running. We came 2nd overall (out of 8 teams) and won the fastest hurdle team!! Fantastic effort everyone!!
Year 4 enrichment sessions
 
Four children in Year 4 have been attending PE enrichment sessions over the past term to extend their skills. They have had extra sessions in a range of PE areas, including high jump, gymnastics and taking part in activities that they wouldn't normally do in everyday PE lessons including lacrosse and ultimate frisbee.
Year 4 Swimming Gala
 
Jasmine S and Skye S both took part in the Year 4 annual swimming gala held at Dorchester Swimming Pool. They competed against a range of other schools in the area. Jasmine competed in the freestyle event and came 2nd in her race. Skye competed in the backstroke event and came 3rd in her race. Well done to both girls who represented the school so well!
Reception Multi-Skills Festival
 
On 23rd May, four children from reception took part in the first ever multi-skills festival for reception children held at St Marys Middle School, Puddletown. They were joined by other children from local schools. The children moved around various stations covering running, jumping, throwing and catching and were helped by the Year 8 sports leaders from the middle school. A great time was had by everyone!
Sports Day
 
On 21st June, with the sun shining, all children across the school took part in our annual sports day. Our sports day included all the favourites including sack race, egg and spoon, relay, flat race and Reception’s obstacle race. Sports Day ended up on a wet-note (as always!) with the Year 4 leaver’s race, where Year 3 and the parents of Year 4 make it their responsibility to get Year 4 as wet as possible! A brilliant day was had by all!!
Primary 'Can-do' Games
 
On Monday 4th July, four children from Year 4 attended the very first Primary 'Can-do' Games held at Rockely Park, Poole. They were able to try out different water sports, including kayaking and sailing with the boys winning their sailing competition!  All children and adults had a great day and were already planning their return trips for the summer holidays!!
