Sporting Events

GB Karate Champion
 
Miss O'Brien (trainee teacher in Year 1) represented Great Britain in the World Karate Championships in London at the end of October. She won 1 gold and 2 silver medals. She led an assembly, showing her medals and some videos from the World Championships. Well done to Miss O'Brien - we are all very proud of you!
Basketball Festival
 
At the end of October, four Year 3 children attended a basketball festival at St Mary's Middle School, Puddletown. They played competitive games against each school in the Greenwood Tree Academy. Well done to Harriet, Grace Wa, Jack and Charlie who represented the school amazingly, playing against some much older (and taller!!) children. They worked together as a team and showed a high level of perseverance, coming 4th overall. 

Multi Skills Festival

All children in Reception, Year 1 and 2 took part in a Multi Skills Festival at Frome Valley led by Year 8 sports leaders from St Mary’s Middle School, Puddletown.

The children completed a series of 2 minute activities to demonstrate various PE skills.  The highest scoring boy and girl from yr 1 and yr 2 then took part in a Multi Skills Final at St Mary’s Middle School, Puddletown.

Well done to Alfie, Harriet, George and Layla who represented the school. Frome Valley came 4th overall!! Well done!!!

Netball Festival
 
At the end of November, seven Year 4 children attended a netball festival at St Mary's Middle School, Puddletown. They learnt different skills linked to netball and then finished off the festival by playing some friendly matches against other schools. We came 3rd overall. Well done to Scarlett, Millie, Maeve, Zara, Hayden, Stan and Max H for representing the school so well.
