Summer 2022

Marvellous Minibeasts!

Our summer topic was 'Minibeasts' and we had so much fun learning lots of new information about them. We learnt about 'habitiats' and all the wonderful different places where minibeasts live. We went out into our forest school area to see if we could find any of the habitats and see them in real life!
We then got 'hands-on' with a not-so-mini beast, Tinga Rex! Tinga Rex is the african land snail that lives with Miss Dixon in year 2. We thought he was 'very sticky, slimey and massive!'
Testing Materials in Science!

In science we have been learning about materials. We are able to sort materials into groups, such as plastic, metal, wood and glass. We had a go at testing different materials too. In one lesson, we were testing which material would be best to make a strong bridge for the three billy goats gruff to cross over! In another lesson, we were testing which materials were most waterproof to make a coat for the gingerbread man so he didn't get wet and crumble apart!
Our School Trip to Moors Valley!

What an amazing day we had at Moors Valley on our school trip. The children enjoyed some time playing in the park, a picnic lunch and a trip on the train! We finished off a fantastic day with a yummy ice lolly back at school. Thank you to all the grown ups who came to help us!
